JIM FOULK


Jim grew up in Delaware and graduated from the University of Delaware. After 20 years helping to make aircraft more survivable while working at the Army Research Lab and Sikorsky Aircraft, he founded SURVICE Engineering, a survivability based systems analysis company; and in 2007 he formed Chesapeake Testing, an independent ballistic test lab for personal protective equipment. To accommodate the growing need for a new, larger, upscale events and conference center in the region, Mr. Foulk built and operates Water’s Edge Events Center.

MANNY MARTINEZ


With over 25 years’ experience in many facets of the Culinary Arts, Chef is inspired by the variety and quality of local produce and seafood throughout our region. His passion for his art is evident in every dish he creates. Chef has an education background in Hotel, Restaurant and Business Management with ACF accredited certifications. He has apprenticed under two of the country’s elite Certified Master Chefs and is a member of the American Culinary Federation and the National Ice Carving Association.

PAUL KOUNTZ


30 dedicated years in the catering industry has led Paul to inherit the reputation as the “Best Catering Manager in Baltimore”. Born and raised in Baltimore, MD, he immediately found a passion for hospitality management. Paul began his long career managing The Brass Elephant Restaurant and building its catering division. He quickly found that he enjoyed and excelled at managing this part of the restaurant and wanted to focus on his new found specialty. The next step in Paul’s career included an opportunity to become the Director for Catering at Wickey’s Caterers. His attention to detail and excellence at event planning and execution caught the eye of Chef’s Expressions President where he became Vice President. After 10 award winning years at Chef’s Expressions, Paul decided to venture out on his own. He joined forces with Danial Horwitz of The Pantry Catering where he was awarded “Caterer of the Year” in 2015.  In the fall of 2017, Paul found his long awaited home at Water’s Edge Event Center in Harford County. With the many years of offsite catering experience that Paul brought to WEEC, the team decided in early 2019 to launch Water’s Edge Catering. It’s now time for not just Harford County to experience Chef Manny’s amazing cuisine but the surrounding counties as well!

Senior Manager of Sales, Marketing and Membership

CATHY DERMOTT


Cathy is a recognized sales and marketing specialist with over 25 years of experience. Between 1987 and 1999, she and her husband started and grew a multi-million dollar technology consulting firm before selling to a publicly traded company. Most recently she spent 13 years as the Marketing and Sales Manager of Beechtree Golf Club; then, in partnership with the Chef and Club House Manager, formed Beechtree Catering Company until the opening of Water’s Edge Events Center. She currently sits on the boards of Route 40 Business Corridor and Visit Harford. She has previously been a member of the Department of Economic Development Advisory Board as well.

Accounting and Human Resource Manager

SUSAN DIMAGGIO


Susan brings to Water’s Edge 23 years of experience in the banking industry, most recently as the Vice President and Controller at Bank of Maryland. She moved to the hospitality and entertainment industry spending five years as Controller for Beechtree Golf Club. Susan received her Bachelor of Science from Towson University in Business Management and Accounting, is a Certified Public Accountant, and a Chartered Global Management Accountant.

Audio Visual & Facilities Manager

BRYAN HOLMES


Bryan earned his Bachelors of Science in Electronic Media and Film from Towson University in 2007 and more recently completed the CompTIA CertMaster A+ 220-801 certification. Before joining the Water’s Edge team in 2013, he spent eight years in the Baltimore and DC region running conference AV for a variety of venues including multiple five star hotels. His experience includes working in all varieties of events from board meetings, video conferences, expo halls, graduations, concerts, awards ceremonies and weddings. In addition to his formal training, he has spent ten plus years playing live, writing and recording regionally with a band.

Sales and Membership Associate

ABBY RAICHEK


Born in New York and raised outside of Philadelphia, Abby graduated from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in May of 2017 and moved to Baltimore to pursue a career in the events industry. Before joining the sales team at Waters Edge, she served as a dining room manager at Chartwell Golf and Country Club in Severna Park, and she also worked for NBC Olympics at both the 2016 Summer Games in Rio de Janerio and the 2018 winter Games in South Korea. While working abroad at the Games, Abby helped to arrange clients’ temporary housing and provide a variety of concierge services to residents of the Media Village. Abby brings to us a passion for hospitality, a dedication to teamwork, and as a four-year member of the UMass Women’s Rowing Team, a love of creating special waterfront memories.

Catering, Banquets, and Facilities Assistant Manager

DYLAN DERMOTT


Dylan comes to us from a national restaurant chain where he had opened new stores for the company, trained staff, and managed both the front of the house and the kitchen staff.  He is a graduate of their award-winning 6-month Management Training Program where he learned all aspects of the restaurant business from inventory control and accounting principles to food preparation and delivery. He brought these skills to Water’s Edge Events Center where he has been fine-tuning our internal processes and helped our staff to improve their customer service skills.  Dylan is our “go-to guy” when anyone needs help managing the outcomes of our day-to-day operations.

Sous Chef

BRANDON SIMMS


A 2007 alumnus of Harford Tech, Brandon began his passion for cooking by attending the  Culinary Institute of America, Hyde Park. Upon his graduation, Brandon continued to learn and grow within the industry by gaining valuable kitchen experience at The Oregon Grille, Mercy Ridge Retirement Community, and was the Sous Chef at Bulle Rock Golf Course. Before his time at Water’s Edge, Brandon was also a vital part of the Beechtree Golf Course Culinary Team and it was there he first met Chef Manny. For the past six years he has embraced his role as the Sous Chef of Water’s Edge Events Center. His leadership, passion for creativity and attention to detail are key to providing the best customer experience. His willingness to do anything that he can to ensure all of his guests leave happy and full makes him an integral part of The Water’s Edge team.

Concierge and Membership Coordinator

EILEEN WEBSTER


Born and raised in Harford County (or as a lifelong resident of HC) Eileen has extensive knowledge of the surrounding area and people. Before joining the WEEC team, Eileen worked at Long and Foster Belcamp assisting agents with marketing and selling of homes for 11 years. She started working at WEEC in the fall of 2103 as a concierge and membership coordinator. “I really enjoy working with people and making their experience here the best it can be!”
